History

Caulfield Montessori School is coeducational, nondenominational and independent. It is fully accredited at PreSchool and Primary levels with the Registered Schools Board.

The school was established in 1976, operating initially out of the then Melbourne Montessori Childrens Center and later at Mercer House, part of the Toorak Teachers College.

In 1979 a permanent site for the school was located and properties purchased in Roselea Street, South Caulfield. 1980 saw the school open with three classes of mixed ages and three teachers. Further restructuring during that first year saw a small but dedicated school emerge.

The school has grown progressively from that time and now offers Montessori classroom education from Cycle 1 through to Cycle 3 the equivalent in traditional education being 3year old kindergarten level through to year 6 primary.
